The first familiar face I saw the next morning belonged to Floyd Hand, recent participant of Meet St. Louis and one of the nicest people I've met. He took care of introducing me to Don and things got rolling. The car show was being held in the parking garage of the hotel, a very novel idea. Relief from the brilliant Texas sun was half of the explanation, relief from Texas rain the other. It took a while to get used to the idea, but the true jury - those who brought their cars to display - had passed judgment, and they considered the choice parking to be in the garage, not on the roof.
