Part two of the Pontiac Southern Nationals was drag racing at the Texas Motorplex. This was my first attempt at taking pictures at a track for publication, and to be honest I didn't have a plan or even know what to expect. Should I just hang out at a display and talk to people? Should I completely cover the racing with timing and scoring? In the end I tried a moderate approach to try to give you a feel for what it was like to be there. I did spend a fair amount of time getting to know the website regulars - which was the most rewarding aspect for me - and something I hadn't been able to do at the Meet in St. Louis.

The following is a collection of snapshots of Pontiacs in action, most of which are not captioned. As I believe Witchdoctor said in the Q & A I was everywhere throughout the day: the "pits", the hospitality area, the stands, the tower, next to the track, in Floyd Hand's car for one run.
