While I've lived in the St. Louis area all my life I must confess that I had never driven through Collinsville before this summer. Since we are building in the area (and since whether you're holding a hammer or not apparently building is a full time job) it was no problem to make a small detour and check out the location my Arch chapter compatriots had chosen on one of my countless trips. Highway 70 runs right through the area a stone's throw from 255 allowing easy access from every direction. The convention complex may be just about the perfect venue for the convention. The center itself provided ample parking lot space for both the show and the swap meet. Inside it had plenty of square footage for vehicle displays, the banquet, and last, but certainly not least, convenient shade and restrooms. It was also easily accessible from a number of hotels in the area, not just the host Holiday Inn.
