The SD-455 Registry has been in existence since 1986 for the benefit of the SD Firebird owner. With only 1295 built in 1973-1974, we are proud to have 272 registered to date. Based on an owner completed registration form, the Registry lists information about color, equipment, options, original destination, and build date. For security and privacy reasons, owners names and addresses are NOT published. Owners who are interested can request and complete a form. Their car will be included in the next edition. A Registry is published every two years or so. The registry is eight pages long, and is filled with interesting facts and stories about the SD-455 Firebird. Registered owners are entitled to a copy. The latest edition is coming out in the fall 1997.

We are a specialty chapter which is dedicated to the preservation and exposure of 1961 to 1963 Pontiac Tempest and LeMans automobiles. These unique vehicles with independent suspension and a front engine connected to a rear transmission by a flexible shaft, sometimes called a "ropeshaft", truly are worthy of maintaining a lofty position in the colorful history of Pontiac. Most chapter members are owners of one or more of these cars, but ownership is not a prerequisite to membership, only the interest and desire to insure these wonderful cars are never forgotten. Membership dues are $15 annually and members receive a colorful monthly newsletter entitled "Ropeshaft Reader" which contains model information, restoration help and classified ads. Chapter members must be members of POCI.
